  William Legon   42nd Traverse NZ

A short summary about the man himself, Will Legon, and Seven Good Resons why you should book with Will4Adventure . . .

Founder of Will4Adventure, Will has experience from various fields - many happy years in the outdoors - trekking, rock climbing, and mountain biking, 9 years as a teacher working with youths from a variety of backgrounds aged 11 - 18, and 12 years with the Territorial Army last serving as a Captain.

After travelling and seeing how some operators were working overseas, Will quickly realised that with his training and experience of working with people in the outdoors he could do a better job. The outdoors can not easily be packaged so that it is challenging, exciting, fun and safe all at the same time - and many in country operators around the world fail to achieve any of those criteria.

Will is a qualified summer mountain leader and single pitch rock climbing instructor. In addition he has an up to date outdoor first aid qualification. Furthermore, as and when trips or courses require, Will4Adventure use appropriately qualified leaders.

Why you should book your adventure experience with Will4Adventure:

Reason 1: The man you pay will, 99% of the time, be the man taking you on your trip. William Legon aims to lead all of his guided adventures. If he can't be there for any reason, then you will be informed before departure and an equally qualified and trusted guide will be appointed.

Reason 2: Will4Adventure are a small closely knit team of people with a background of different skills committed to providing you, our client, with the best travel experience you can have. There's no anonymous corporate 'customer support team'; at Will4Adventure, if you have any queries or questions, William will personally answer them for you.

Reason 3: Because we're a small company, not only are we passionate about providing you a great getaway but also our trips cost less than our competitors' products. Please check the prices - we already have. This is because we don't have the overheads to pay for that others have. What's more, we try our best to be as transparent with our pricing policy as we can be telling what is and what is not included.

Reason 4: Our in-country guides are sourced direct. When I (William Legon) research a destination, not only do I look at the bedroom of the hotels in which I will book you into, or walk the trek I'm taking you on, but also I ascertain who is a good local guide to use in the area. I ask the questions that need asking and then I walk with them. As far as individual countries allow, I try to employ guides direct without using an agency. Again this helps keep costs down for you, the client, but also means the guides and porters get paid a fair wage without a middleman taxing them of their pay. In turn this produces a happy team who enjoy working for Will4Adventure clients.

Reason 5: Our payment system. We know that some people are wary of paying for goods on the internet, and so we have a reassuring system in place for you. First of all, we do not require you to pay us the full cost up front: we'd rather you pay some of the cost in-country. This also means lower costs (and lower prices) since we are not wiring the money to the guides through an expensive international banking system. Second, you pay by sending a cheque to a real address, further reducing any anonymity.

Reason 6: And as if that wasn't enough, we offer This Weekend - a chance to try us out for FREE. Come and meet me for a weekend in the countryside with no obligation to buy anything. I'll be walking, climbing, or mountain biking, and even if you only come along to tell your friends what a great time you had then that will be a bonus for me.

Reason 7: Last of all, we have the experience to ensure you are well taken care of: experience in organising trips away, of travel in the developing world, and in the outdoors in general. The same goes for all Will4Adventure leaders (all people who are known personally by me who I have worked with before). This way we ensure you are adequately prepared for the hill before you set forth: properly equipped and briefed for the adventure ahead. After all, it's no fun walking with a badly packed bag, or wearing a wet pair of jeans, or with a bad case of the trots! So we take care to see that, with our expertise and experience, you will be well looked after.
